APPROACH: NytroPonix has developed a robust “Plant-Based Atmospheric Nitrogen Capture & seed development Platform”, that will continue to develop cutting edge tools and technologies for the regulated capture and utilization of atmospheric Nitrogen by plants and optimized seeds for high-yield crops to feed the globe in a carbon-neutral sustainable manner.

To do so, Nytroponix leverages synthetic biology and genetic engineering to express naturally occurring traits, such as nitrogen fixation, pest control, and disease resistance in crops. This new class of ag biologicals bring home several advantages to farmers:

• Significantly reduce the amount of industrial fertilizer they use
• Without sacrificing on profitability or performance
• Enhance productivity in addition to contributing to carbon neutrality and a green environment.

Thus, NytroPonix has been founded to solve the urgent agriculture challenges threatening our global food supply/shortage and environmental health.

The platform starts with a library of highly characterized naturally occurring genes to develop solutions that deliver a specific benefit to the plant, such as regulated nitrogen fixation, crop protection or other attributes for robust growth and high-yield products. Each new project will benefit from selectively utilizing information from the decades of research in the field, so the platform is constantly gaining speed, accuracy, and momentum, in increasing the probability of success.
